This Rapa Nui girl was standing on one of the parade floats in the Tapati 2011 parade.

The Tapati festival is celebrated annually and last for several weeks from late Janauary to mid-February. However, this year the festival was shortened to just 10 days.
During the festival the locals (Rapa Nuis) support one of two candidates for Queen of the festivals, and participate in various competitions ranging from craft work and triathlon to dancing. Each group are collecting points for their candidate.
