This is St. Geroges church. It was hewn from solid bedrock around the year 1100 AD. Dozens of Churches were hewn from bedrock between the years c.1100 - 1250 AD. To this day no one knows how the amazing feat was accomplished. It is 60 feet deep (not high) and located in Lalibela, the capitol of Ethiopia from 1100 to 1250.
