Just prior to Leaving southern Bolivia for San Pedro de Atacama we have one last look at Lago Verde

This area of the national park is almost like a moon scape? all over there are steam shoots and boiling mud, much similar to Rotorua, N.Z.

At Lago Colorado there are flamingos galore. This lake is absolutely beautiful in it's red colour

Besides many LLamas, flamingos and rock rabbits there is also a rock formation called the "Petrified Tree"

These are rock rabbits, rarely seen by humans. They are part of the wildlife in the Eduardo Alvero national park

This lake lives up to it's name. The water is ever so green

Some of the mountain in this area are over 5800 mtr in height. Look at the beautiful reflection of the mountain

There is much rock on the road to the highlands and mountains, but the scenery is awesome

Located on the alto plano, It get's cold at night time and most tourists end up in the bar.

The church in San Cristobal was built way back in the 15th century. It is made entirely of stone.

All the furniture inside the hotel is built from salt. An overnight stay here is a challenge.

Grosnez Castle is a ruined 14th century castle in Saint Ouen situated in Grosnez. The name is from the Old Norse words "Grar nes" (Grey headland), which is an accurate description of the site when seen from the sea. Jersey May 2009

Ogna is a village and former municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. Ogna has beautiful sand beaches and also a river where salmon fishing is very popular. Highway 44 which here also is a famous tourist route named "The North Sea road" is going right through the village and passes the church.

These wind turbine blades are shipped from Europe then trucked on special rigs to their destination.

This fish is known as a sturgeon. They Can grow into the hundreds of yrs old and get very large. This one is over 7 ft (2 mtrs)

The navigational locks at the Bonneville Dam allows one to to go up river to Idaho State

This is power grid is at the Bonneville dam on the Columbia River between Washington And Oregon States.

The Horsetail Falls are only 176 ft in heighth.

The Oneonta Gorge gets an erie feeling when the sun shines through

The Columbia River Gorge, has many beautiful places to stop when you are east bound. This is the Multnomah Falls which have a drop of 620 ft.

This city is also known as the Sand Dune City. You can see why, looking beyond the boat berths.

Not only does Oregon have beaches, light houses and awesome views, it also has many caves, some exceptionally large.

South of the Heceta Head Light house, is Seal Cove. The picture is self explanatory

Heceta Head Light house. The 56 ft lighthouse was illuminated in 1894. It can be seen 21 miles (33Km) and has the strongest light on the Oregon Coast.

The Cape Creek Bridge was build in 1932 and it's many arches are reminiscent of the Roman Aquaducts. This bridge is one of the most attractive and most unique that it's builder, Conde B. McCullough.

The lighthouse is the second oldest in Oregon, was commissioned in 1871,decommissioned in 1874. Then reopened in 1996. It is the only lighthouse with an attached living quarters.

The Yaquina Bay Bridge, built in 1936. The main span of the 3223 ft bridge is a 600 ft steel through arch.

The Yaquina Head lighthouse was built in 1873. At 23 metres ( 93 ft) it is the tallest of all Oregon's lighthouses. Watch out for the Kelp Flies

The Devil's Punchbowl shows the fury of the water. The ocean comes in through a hole at the top and wears out the inside with it's power

This cape was named by Captain Cook, I guess he didn't like the weather when he arrived here.

THe Rocky Creek Bridge was build in 1919, as part of the "Roosevelt Military Highway", now called Oregon Coast highway.

The Cape Meares lighthouse stands 217 ft above the ocean. It was first lit around Jan. 1, 1890. The light can be seen 21 miles away.

This small rock in Siletz Bay is a left over from a Tsunami back in the 1700 s

The "D" river in Lincoln City is the world's shortest river at 120 ft. So says the Guinness book of records

The look out at Cape Meares leaves one wanting for much more of the same. The Oregon coast will not disappoint you.

Just off the coast is the "Octopus Tree" just count it's limbs. The tree is 105 ft tall and has a circumference of 47 ft

Three "Three Arches" are but one of the many beautiful sights along the Oregon Coast

The walk through the dunes let's one imagine of the good things to come. There was an awesome beach on the other side.

This monolith is located at Cape Kiwanda on the Three Capes Loop, just north of Pacific City

The two hangar doors on the world's largest hangar are 120 ft high and open to 220 ft wide The "Guppy" in front is an oversized cargo plane.

This hangar is 1072 ft long,192 ft high, 296 ft wide. Ground covered is 7 acres enough to play 6 football games

Start of the construction of the world's largest wooden span, build in 1942. It housed 8 Blimps for the protection of the U.S. Navy
