Geocaching is a high-tech version of hide-and-seek that involves the use of a Global Positioning System ("GPS") receiver to find a "geocache" (or "cache") placed anywhere in the world. The co-ordiantes are posted on the internet, which you then programme into your GPS - then off you go! A typical cache is a small, waterproof container containing a logbook and "treasure". Walks to the caches can take place anywhere - from a mountain in Antartica, to your local park.
